Data residency
Data residency is the requirement or choice to store and process data in a particular country, such as keeping Australian customer records in Australian data centres.
What it means in practice
Health, NDIS and government contracts often require Australian hosting, and Vercel, Supabase, AWS and Google Cloud all offer Sydney regions. The region is set when a project is created, so it needs deciding before launch.
Marshall Tech chooses regions at the start of every build so clients can answer data residency questions from their own customers with confidence.
