Postgres (PostgreSQL)
Postgres is a free, open-source relational database that stores data in linked tables and is supported by almost every cloud provider.
What it means in practice
Postgres is the safest default for business software, because customers, orders, bookings and invoices fit naturally into related tables and reports run straight off them. Supabase, Neon, AWS and Google Cloud all host it, so the data stays portable.
Most Marshall Tech builds, including Adapt Health, run on Postgres.
Where this shows up in our work
We apply Postgres across these services when we build for Australian businesses.
